Sweet Nancy Productions
Vision For World Missions
In January, 1999, Gordon took a short-term (1 week) missions trip with a group of men from The Worship Center Disaster Relief team to a small village in Honduras to build homes for those left homeless by the devastation left by Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Pallo-De-Agua was completely washed away by the flooding and The Worship center committed to rebuild the village (on higher ground!). Over 100 sturdy homes were built over the following year.
The experience was a lesson in what is important and what is not. Many of those folks had nothing but their dignity and their faith, but in many ways were richer than the wealthiest American. All the things we own and strive for really do not amount to anything at all. The only things we have that have any value are those things that have eternal value. Gordon took stock and tried to tally up the balance in his "eternal checkbook".
While not completely bankrupt, there was room for improvement.
We committed to give 50% of the profits from Nancy's Piano Tapestries to the General Missions Fund of The Worship Center. The money will go to such projects as a bread factory for orphans in North Korea (the misery in that country is remarkably unreported in Western media). The Worship Center fully supports over 100 missionaries located all over the world who actively minister to the spiritual and and the physical needs of the peoples they live among. Visit the missions site at The Worship Center On-Line for more information.
The other 50% will go toward development of Sweet Nancy Productions as a source of fine music for "The Rest Of Us"
